DPPL is Going Green With You!

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT -
Des Plaines Deep Green, the Des Plaines Park District, the City’s Department of Public Works & Engineering and Acme Refining are partnering to co-host a free Electronics Recycling event, 8AM – Noon, Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Public Works facility, 1111 Joseph J. Schwab (Campground) Road. Acme Refining wipes all computer hard drives to theNational Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) standard. Computers that meet requirements are then refurbished while unusable equipment is recycled responsibly in accordance with the Illinois Electronics Reuse & Recycling Act.
Items will only be accepted during the designated times above. These include all computer components, phone equipment, hand-held electronics, DVD’s, VCR’s and televisions. Household appliances will not be accepted. For more information, call the City of Des Plaines Public Works and Engineering Department at 847-391-5464.
